UntilSafe Terms of Use

Terms for a non-emergency check-in aid.

These Terms govern use of UntilSafe, a BrightByte Apps product. By creating an account, accepting these Terms, purchasing a subscription, or using UntilSafe, the user agrees to these Terms and acknowledges the Privacy Policy and Safety Limitations. A person who does not agree must not use UntilSafe.

Eligibility

A user must be at least 18, able to enter a contract, located in the United States, and using the service for a lawful personal purpose. Users must provide accurate account and telephone information. Do not create an account for a minor or enter a minor’s personal information.

What UntilSafe does

UntilSafe lets an eligible user schedule a check-in and select one independently opted-in trusted contact. At the chosen time, the service may send a push notification, text, or automated voice call. Calls use fixed prompts and keypad tones, not speech recognition.

A valid all-clear PIN closes the plan. A configured duress PIN, no valid response, or certain delivery failures can start the trusted-contact notification path. The user-facing receipt intentionally does not reveal which valid PIN was entered.

Not a safety or emergency service

UntilSafe is a non-emergency scheduled check-in and trusted-contact notification aid. It is not 911, law enforcement, emergency dispatch, an alarm or personal emergency response service, professional monitoring, or a guarantee of safety, delivery, or response.

If danger is immediate or suspected, leave when it is safe to do so and contact 911 or the appropriate local emergency service directly. Do not wait for UntilSafe or a trusted contact.

User responsibilities

Keep the device, mobile number, time zone, notifications, PINs, trusted contact, and plan times accurate and secure.
Use two different, hard-to-guess PINs and do not share them with the person being met.
Use independent precautions and tell another person the plan. UntilSafe must never be the only check-in or precaution.
Enter only information the user has a lawful reason to provide. Avoid unnecessary full names, home addresses, health details, allegations, identifiers, or other sensitive information.

Trusted contacts and communications

Typing a telephone number does not enroll that person. The user must share the invitation link, and the invited adult must review the role, verify the same number, and affirmatively agree before a live plan can use that contact.

By verifying a mobile number and scheduling a plan, the user requests operational texts and automated or prerecorded voice calls for that plan. Message and data rates may apply. A trusted contact may revoke consent, including by replying STOP to a supported text.

UntilSafe Plus

UntilSafe Plus includes up to 10 live check-ins per calendar month measured in UTC. The allowance resets at the start of the next UTC calendar month and unused check-ins do not roll over.
A live check-in counts when it is successfully scheduled. Canceling or rescheduling by canceling and creating a replacement does not restore the used check-in. A rehearsal is free and does not use the allowance.
The available plan, localized price, billing period, taxes, renewal date, and any offer displayed by Apple or Google immediately before confirmation control the purchase. There is no free trial unless the store purchase screen expressly offers one.
Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled in Apple App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Cancel before the renewal date shown by the store to prevent the next charge. Deleting the app or account does not cancel billing.
Refunds, billing disputes, and store-account cancellation are handled under Apple or Google policy and applicable law. A check-in already armed while entitlement was active can finish after entitlement later expires.

Acceptable use

Do not use UntilSafe to harass, stalk, surveil, threaten, impersonate, deceive, or control another person. Do not submit a number without a genuine relationship and lawful purpose, or contact someone after refusal or revocation. Do not automate, overload, reverse engineer, bypass limits, probe security, access another account, fabricate incidents, or resell UntilSafe as monitoring or security.

Account action

UntilSafe may restrict or suspend access for abuse, fraud, security risk, legal requirements, payment reversal, or violation of these Terms. A user may delete the account through Settings, subject to the separate store-billing reminder described above.

Availability and disclaimers

Networks, phones, carriers, cloud providers, notifications, software, power, and people can fail, delay, filter, or misroute communications. UntilSafe is provided on an “as available” basis to the fullest extent permitted by law. No promise is made that a check-in, call, text, or person will be available or respond.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, BrightByte Apps is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss arising from use of or inability to use UntilSafe. Nothing in these Terms excludes a right or responsibility that applicable law does not allow to be excluded.

The user is responsible for lawful use, plan details, contact selection, and independent precautions. Applicable consumer law controls where these Terms conflict with a non-waivable right.

Changes

UntilSafe may update these Terms as the service, providers, prices, or law change. Material changes will receive notice or renewed acceptance when required. Continued use after an effective update constitutes acceptance where law permits.
