UntilSafe Trusted-contact Consent
Accept only if you understand the role.
Last updated August 27, 2026
This page explains the role of an UntilSafe trusted contact. It is informational. Acceptance occurs only inside the unique invitation flow after the invited adult verifies the same mobile number and affirmatively agrees.
Acceptance is voluntary
Typing someone’s number does not enroll them. The UntilSafe user shares a consent link personally. The invited adult must open it, review the role, verify the same mobile number, and affirmatively agree. The link expires after 48 hours.
The invited person may decline. Declining or ignoring an invitation does not authorize calls or texts beyond any verification communication the person requested while reviewing the invitation.
What a trusted contact may receive
- A verification text requested through the invitation flow and operational confirmation messages.
- A text or automated voice alert after a duress entry, no valid response, or certain delivery failures.
- The user’s display name, scheduled time, manually entered meeting-place description, and a neutral request to try contacting the user.
- Frequency varies with the user’s activity. One paid account can schedule up to 10 live check-ins per UTC calendar month, and each check-in may result in more than one delivery attempt. Message and data rates may apply.
What the role does not mean
- The contact is not hired, trained, monitored, or made an emergency responder.
- UntilSafe does not confirm wrongdoing, verify the person being met, or promise that an alert means an emergency occurred.
- UntilSafe is not a safety or emergency service and does not contact 911.
- The contact decides what reasonable action to take and should contact emergency services directly if they independently believe danger is immediate.
Privacy
UntilSafe stores the contact’s name or label, verified mobile number, consent and revocation status, and communication-delivery history. The Privacy Policy describes providers and retention. Do not ask the UntilSafe user to share a private PIN.
Revoke consent
A trusted contact can revoke consent at any time through the invitation flow, by asking the UntilSafe user to replace them, or by replying STOP to a supported text. Reply HELP for basic message help. A revoked contact cannot be used to arm a new live check-in. Any open plan that depends on that contact is canceled and UntilSafe attempts to notify the account owner by push and text.
